He is survived by: his wife Nelda Rushing; his children, Beverly Roberts (Derwin) of Magee, Leigh Maddox of Magee, Mark Parks (Rhonda) of Braxton and Tammy Young (Dale) of Crystal Springs; his grandchildren, Brandi Bankston (Jeremy), Doug Warren III (Dawn), Bailee Purser (Jacob), Melissa Case, Baritt Blount (Jonathan), Gregory Maddox (Jordan), Emileigh Cromwell (Shane), Ashley Granger (Jase), Rylee Welch (Eric) and Parker Young; his great grandchildren, Macie Maddox, Katelyn Miller, Brex Bankston, Colton Purser, Bella Bankston, Corbin Bankston, Bradlee Brown, Lynnex Case, Breelyn Case, Lily Maddox, Emree Granger, Carter Cromwell, Landon Maddox, Credence Blount, Lakeyn Granger and Emree Cromwell; his siblings, Sammie Rushing (Elizabeth), Hugh Rushing (Judy) and Arlene Jones; and his brother-in-law Phil Hardwick (Carol). He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Gallman Baptist Church. A memorial service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Siloam Baptist Church.
