He was predeceased by: his mother Mildred Newell (Hammack); and his siblings, Leon Newell and Anne White. He is survived by: his father Tatum Newell; his wife Mary Gail Newell; his brother Jack Newell (Louise); his children, Michael (Carol), David (Zarella) and Shannon (Mark); and his grandchildren, Bradley (Michelle), Jordy (Sophia), Austin (Sarah), Constance and Anna. He is also survived by his eight great-grandchildren.
