She was predeceased by : her mother Nae Toguchi; and her sister Yasuko Walsh. She is survived by : her husband Ronald Earl Howell; her daughters, Nancy Howell Brackin, Sandy Howell and Terry Howell Crawford; her son-in-law David Crawford; her siblings, Seikin Toguchi and Etsuko Toguchi; her grandchildren, James Brackin, Nicholas Brackin, Ryan Crawford and Garrett Crawford; and her great grandchildren, Claire Brackin, Cadence Brackin, Arya Brackin, Halo Crawford and Ace Crawford.

Michael Whidden wrote a sympathy message

“I have fond memories of Hiroko "Judy" Howell when i was stationed at moody afb valdosta ga. I was friends with her daughter Sandy and served with CMSGT Ronald Howell. They were very nice to me and treated me like family. I still remember the Tbone steaks mrs. Howell would cook for me when i would visit. I think of their family often and miss Sandy to this day. I was very saddened to know she passed and my thoughts and prayers are with her family; she will be sorely missed. Michael Whidden”
