He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Variani and Marie Veronica Variani; and his sister Emily Gaines. He is survived by: his wife Lillian Silva Variani of Diamondhead; his stepchildren, Eric Martin (Kathleen), Lori Williams (Mark) and Craig Martin (Dianne); his grandchildren, Jarrod Martin, Spencer Martin, Christopher Williams and Abby Williams; his brother-in-law Steve Gaines; and his nieces, Stephanie Kleider (John) and Donna McCraney.
