He was predeceased by : his wife Frances Payne Ward; his daughter Sarah Beth Ward; and his grandson Stephen Lowery Ward. He is survived by : his brother John Morris Ward of Kosciusko; his children, Gene Ward (Tammy) of Indianola and Renee Burge (Byron) of Carriere; and his grandchildren, Megan Hudson, Callie Ward, Connie Gore, JT Burge, Ashley Lowe, Brandi Wagner and Chase Burge. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Durant, Methodist Church.
