She was predeceased by: her parents, Haywood Nowell and Bernice Nowell; her daughter Connie Wheeler; her sister Barbara Ann Wheeless; and her brother-in-law George Mitchell.

She is survived by: her husband Doyle Ray Mitchell; her daughters, Cynthia Moore (Danny) of Mantachie, MS and Angela Clark (Rodger) of Ethel, MS; her grandchildren, Ashley Pullen, Austin Wheeler, Brent Moore, Hunter Clark and Conner Clark; and her sister Ophelia Mitchell. She is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren.
