Gween leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Gween’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Gween will carry forward his memory in their hearts.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Spears and Ora Lee Spight; his wife Bernice Spears; and his sister Jennifer Lee Cox. He is survived by: his children, Quincy Lavon Spears (Tiffany) and Timothy Octavian Spears (McKenzie). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, five siblings, two sisters-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM and at 6:00 PM at the Foster and Son Funeral Home Chapel of Ripley, MS (601 S Line St, Ripley, MS 38663). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at the TBD Boyd Cemetery of Ripley, MS.
