He was predeceased by : his parents, Jerry McWhirter, and William Wallace McWhirter, Jr.. He is survived by : his wife Tara Estess; and his daughters, Katy (James) and Anna (Daniel).

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Flora Methodist Church (142 Carter St, Flora, MS 39071). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
