He was predeceased by: his wife Elois Barber Summers; his parents, Herbert Summers and Georgia Stewart Summers; his brother John Buford Summers; and his brothers-in-law, Chrisler Allen and Ed Walley.
He is survived by: his sons, Chet Summers (Danita) of Purvis and Randy Summers (Ebby) of Florence; his grandchildren, Drew Summers (Jennifer), Courtney McKenzie (Robert), Cheyney Statham (Daniel) and Daniel Welch (Katy); his sisters, Sarah Allen and Betty Sue Walley; his sister-in-law Nell Summers; and his great grandchildren, Summer Statham, Daniel "Man Man" Statham, Landon Statham, Hunter Summers, Amelia Grace Summers, Robbie McKenzie, Liza Kate Summers and Rylan McKenzie. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hathorn Funeral Home (167 Hwy 198, Columbia, MS 39429). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at the Kokomo Cemetery.
