Bertha Cox Rather Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Bertha Cox Rather of Flowood, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 1, 2026 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Edwin Cox Sr. and Bessie Louise Cox; and her siblings, Shelby, Robert Jr., Frank, William, Lamar, Marvin, Billy Ruth and Betty Jean.

She is survived by: her husband Charles Lewes Rather; her daughter Shelia Lewes Rather Wesson (Joel Wesson); her granddaughters, Shelby Lewes Wesson Silva (Skylar), Jaci Ashlyn Wesson Altamuro (Drew) and Ainsley Joelle Wesson; her great grandchildren, Rylee Lewes Kailani Silva, Leilani Stella Rei Silva and Colton Andrew Altamuro; and her brother Jimmy Dale Cox. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
