He is survived by: his wife Roseanna Rahaim Yancy; his sons, Christopher Cooley (Leslie) and Michael Cooley (Elizabeth); his grandchildren, Sommer Cooley, Andrew Cooley, Christopher Cooley and Walter Cooley; and his sister Deborah Yancy Snider McDowell.
