He was predeceased by: his parents, Gladys Imogene Butts and Hal Woodrow Butts; his sister Kathy Hayes; and his daughter Kristy Herman. He is survived by: his wife Dianne Stefanick; his children, Don Butts Jr. and Brittney Moore (Alex); his granddaughter Brittain Maxwell; his brother Larry Butts (Wanda); his sibling's children, Kim Travis (Mark), Terri Meyer (David), Stephen Butts (Carolyn), Michael Butts (Janet) and David Rodgers; and his office staff Kim.
In lieu of flowers we ask for donations to made in his memory to the MIND Center at UMMC to help fund research to crack the code of Alzheimer's through research.
