It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ray L Kent of Flowood, Mississippi, born in Delta City, Mississippi, who passed away on January 9, 2026, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Stannie Austin Kent and Jimmy Lou Morgan Kent; and his siblings, Loraine "Shine" Tucker, James Austin "Bub" Kent and Charles Lamar "Rusty" Kent.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Roberts Kent; his sister Margie Cooper of Glen Allen, MS; his children, Angelia "Angie" Kent Lambert (Richard "Rich" Lambert) and Ray "Randy" L Kent, Jr. (Suzanne Kent); and his grandchildren, Morgan Proctor (Jacob Proctor), Kaitlin Franks (Michael Franks) and Ray L. "Trey" Kent III.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Morrison Heights Baptist Church (3000 Hampstead Blvd, Clinton, MS 39056). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Clinton Cemetery.
