She was predeceased by: her husband Herman Manuel Gaskin; her parent Ludie Thornton of Raleigh; her brothers, Bobby Royce Thornton of Jackson, Windell Traxler of Forest and Mack Wiggins of Pineville; and her mother Hope Westbrook.
She is survived by: her children, Melita Gaskin of Forest, Jeff Gaskin of Forest and Yolanda Stuart (Michael) of Forest; her grandchildren, Justin Stuart (Schkeara) of Morton and Heather Stuart Welch (Tezoc) of Cooperville; and her sisters-in-law, Marylyn Wiggins of Pineville, Barbara Traxler of Forest and Mary Thornton of Jackson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Goodwater Baptist Church.
