He was predeceased by : his parents, Walter Thomas and Nettie Walker Thomas; his wife Ruthie Nell Thomas; his son Ricky Dewayne Thomas; and his siblings, Ruby Porter, J. C., Weldon, Lester and Chester Thomas.

He is survived by : his children, Nettie McDonald of Forest, MS and Thomas Coley (Dianne) of Morton, MS. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
