He was predeceased by : his parents, James Reid and Anna Roberts Reid; his children, James and Goldie Reid; and his grandson Toby Reid.

He is survived by : his children, Debbie Cochran (James) of Brandon, MS, Jammie Hamilton (John) of Dixon, Thomas "Pedo" Reid (Heather) of Forest, MS and Benny Reid (Heather) of Forest, MS; and his brother Maylon Reid of Forest, MS. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
