He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert A. Thrasher and Iris Miriam Gray Thrasher; and his grandparents, Jewel Thrasher, Elvie Rollins Thrasher and Crafton Gray.

He is survived by: his sister Rachel Thrasher Fairley (Tim); and his grandchildren, Georgia Mae Gray, Pallbearers, Randy Gray, Tracy Gray, Scott Gray, Steve Gray, Kenneth Gray and Kyle Gray.

In 2016, Arlon was diagnosed with early on-set Alzheimer's disease.
