We bid farewell to Marolyn Lanier of Gillsburg, Mississippi, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 20, 2025 at the age of 89. Marolyn touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her father Fred Williams; the father of her children John Norman Honea; her husband Dr. Lauren Lanier; her siblings, Dalton Williams, Annie Laurie Williams and Margie Wilson; her grandson Brian Hemphill; her children-in-law, Denise Blailock Honea and Ben Gilbert; and her stepson Mark Lanier.
She is survived by: her mother Hettie Genieve Bean Williams; her children, Gary Honea (Janet), June Gilbert and Rhonda Hemphill (Stuart); her grandchildren, Chris Honea (Cori), LeAnne Middleton (Stuart), Lacey Clayton (Dave), Josh Honea (Cody), Kane Honea (Justin), Trey Rooker (Whitney), Lynlee Maddren (Dave), Leighton Frederick (Jeremy), Ben Gilbert, Elise Tiernan (Scott), Lesli-Anne Glenn (Bill), Carey Hemphill (Kristen), Patrick Hemphill (Sara) and Mallory Hemphill; and her stepchildren, Melinda Lanier, Chuck Lanier (Sandy), Sydney Lanier Weber (Jerry) and Laney Lanier. She is also survived by 25 greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Gillsburg Baptist Church's youth building fund.
