It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bertha Whirley Meeks (Glen, Mississippi), who passed away on March 15, 2026, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Lester Sr. Whirley and Eula Mae Whirley; her siblings, Lester Jr., Jesse and Loyd Chester; her husband Howard "Buck" Meeks; and her children, David, Mary, Hester, Donnia Jean, Alvin and Sean. She was also cherished by children, totaling 49 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
When dementia and Alzheimer's crept in and took her memory, two things remained etched in her soul.
