It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ernest Whittington of Gloster, Mississippi, who passed away on January 10, 2026, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Ernest leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Whittington and Nancy Etheridge Whittington; and his wife Bettie Sue Warden. He is survived by: his children, Linda Sue Whittington Gordon of Old Town, Idaho, Dennis Wayne Whittington of Liberty and Larry Scott Whittington of Santa Cruz, Calif.. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
