He was predeceased by: his father Freddie M. Smiley; his grandmother Bonnie Jackson Smiley; his daughter Cassie Layne Cole; and his brother Ronnie Smiley. He is survived by: his mother Ernestine Smiley of Springhill, LA; his wife Kathy Bishop Smiley of Greenville, MS; his children, Brian Russell "Russ" Smiley (Leslie), Mandy Gayle Cole and Chistopher Milo Smiley; his grandchildren, Cheyenne Smiley, Courtlyn Irion MacDonnell, Wilder of Alaska, Abbi Burnley and CeCe Burnley; his great grandchildren, Cooper Tallhorse-Petty, Aspen MacDonnell and Ellie Irion-Thomas; and his siblings, Freida Smiley McKay and Gaye Smiley Cole.
