He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie V. Chism and Carmen Mullins Chism of Stewart; his wife Patricia Swindle Chism; his son William Keith Chism of Eupora; and his sister-in-law Pamela Carroll Chism.

He is survived by: his children, Theresa Williams of Kosciusko, Sylvia Crutchfield (Tommy) of Eupora, Pam Hitt (Roy) of Eupora, Evelyn Richardson (Eddie) of Charleston, SC and Bubba Chism (Sharon) of Clarkson; his grandchildren, Jeremy Dixon of Kosciusko, Clint Hester (Stephanie) of Eupora, Mia Pogue of Eupora, Brittany Horn (Sean) of Eupora, Samantha Cabaniss of Mathiston, Dustin Cabaniss of Eupora, Logan Richardson of Charleston, SC, Shelby Ballard (Nathan) of Clarskon, Trey Chism of Clarkson, Nicole Carmichael (Dustin) of Starkville and Keith Chism (Tabitha) of Starkville; and his siblings, Joyce Jones of Stewart, Susan Newton (Ricky) of Eupora, Van Chism (Brenda) of Springfield, MO, Lloyd Chism of Winona and Jeff Chism of Stewart. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
