He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Luther Harrison and Allie Beatrice Scallion Brewer; his wife Frances Lucille Jefcoat Brewer; his siblings, Davis Brewer, Oliver Brewer, Lee Ellis Brewer, L. H. Brewer, Jr., Velma Brewer Goss, Rebecca Jo Brewer Cooksey and Betty Sue Brewer Willard; and his son-in-law Ben Sayle.
He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey Sayle of Greenville, MS, John Brewer, Jr. (Terri) of Greenville and Susan Young (Jimmy) of Cascilla, MS; his siblings, Thelma Staton, Herbert Brewer (Margaret), Faye Ridgeway, Jim Brewer, Sharon Brown (Richard) and Bobby Brewer (Carol); and his grandchildren, Kelly Morgan (Dan), Liz Sayle, Allie Sayle, John Austin Brewer, Bogan Brewer, Kaylynn Brewer, Burland Young, Brewer Young, Blair Young and Brock Young. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
