He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Gene Slade and Ruby Slade of Greenville, Mississippi; his sister Wanda Elaine Slade; and his grandparents, Virgil Swindle, Lexie Swindle of Greenville, Mississippi, Gary and Thelma Slade of Purvis, Mississippi..
He is survived by: his wife Anita Slade; his daughters, Ashley Navarro (Frank) of Greenville and Amber Lewis (Morgan) of Mantee, Mississippi; his grandchildren, Chyann, Taylor, Mackenzie and Gene; and his siblings, Guy Slade (Melissa) of Senatobia, Mississippi and Laura Rawson (Lloyd) of Loganville, Georgia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Emmanuel Baptist Church (3600 Glendale Rd, Greenville, MS 38703). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
The family requests in lieu of flowers for memorials to be sent to Sacred Spaces.
