He was predeceased by : his parents, Guy Elmo Smith and Mary Elma Roberts Smith; his wife Beverly Colvin Smith; his son Ralph Adair Smith; and his sister Clara Elizabeth.

He is survived by : his children, Sherry Smith Leard (Michael Ross Leard), Frank Elmo Smith, Jr. (Hillary) and Earnest Bart Smith (Linda); his siblings, George Smith (Gloria) and Sarah Ann Robinson; his sisters-in-law, Anna Joyce Smith and Sheri Smith; and his grandchildren, Shana Leard Koch (Thurman), Robin Morrison (Jason), Frank "Tripp" Elmo Smith, III (Erin), Elizabeth Anastasia Monica Smith and Patrick Daniel Smith (Jenniffer). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Wilson and Knight Funeral Home (910 US-82, Greenwood, MS 38930). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
