He was predeceased by: his parents, John Harold Montgomery and Nora Irene McDaniel Montgomery; and his sisters, Sarah Montgomery, Ann Montgomery Crowley, Rachel Poe Mixon and Faye Montgomery Blanchard.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Hudson Montgomery; and his caregiver Matthew Blackburn. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins.
