As Margie departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Margie may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Margie leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard L. Clarke and Elizabeth Baglan Clarke; and her husband George W. Smith, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Charlotte Mitchell (David) of Greenwood, Margaret "Sissy" Burnham of Diamondhead, MS, Linda Ahlberg (Ted) of San Antonio, TX, George Smith, III (Janis) of Oakgrove, MS and Clarke Smith of Greenwood; and her sister Pat Chassaniol of Greenville, SC. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the charity of donor's choice.
