With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Don Tartt Sr. of Grenada, Mississippi, born in Cascilla, Mississippi, who passed away on June 3, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee George Tartt and Vina Scallions Tartt; and his siblings, Margaret Rae Tartt, Mary Dell Meredith and Earl Lee Tartt.
He is survived by: his wife Julia Criss Tartt; his children, George Donald Tartt, Jr. of Grenada, Donna Tartt of Virginia and Rebecca Tartt Quinlan (Tom) of Cumming, GA; his stepson Drew Moorehead (Kristen) of Oak Ridge, TN; his siblings, Pauline Williams (Larry) of Indianola, Betty Johnston (Fred) of Duck Hill and James Perry "Buddy" Tartt (Betty) of Grenada; his brother-in-law Robert Meredith of Grenada; his grandsons, Thomas and Tyler Quinlan; and his stepgrandchildren, Olivia, Julia and Magnolia Moorehead.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service (4817 Commerce St, Grenada, MS 38901). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Peter Catholic Parish (320 College Blvd, Grenada, MS 38901).
