He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lee Jones and Marie Chamblee Jones; his sister Dorothy Marie Jones; and his niece Leslie Marie Harbin. He is survived by: his son James Justin Jones (Leslie); his granddaughter Katelyn Melzer; and his brother Bill Jones (Sharon).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hebron Baptist Church in honor of Jimmy to help cover memorial expenses.
