Joan Breland Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Breland of Grenada, Mississippi, who passed away on July 5, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Julian Baughn and Adeline Perry Baughn; her husband Bo Breland; and her siblings, Frances Cox and Bill Baughn.
She is survived by: her children, Rebecca Erickson of Fairhope, AL, Lisa Saxton (Lackey) of Banner and Elton "Blue" Breland of Gore Springs; her sister Lillian Putnam (Clarence) of Ellisville; and her grandchildren, Will Erickson, Andy Saxton, Brooks Breland (Kristy), Ann Latham Pugh (Joe), Aly Smith (Jordan) and Justin Breland. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the First Methodist Church (161 S Line St, Grenada, MS 38901). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be directed to First Methodist Church – Grenada or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
