It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty L. Boyd Hilbun of Gulfport, Mississippi, who passed away on August 13, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Excell Boyd and Justine Summers Boyd of Jayess, Mississippi; her husband Paul Hilbun of Gulfport, Mississippi; her sister Bonnie Sue Gunnell of Jennings, Louisiana; and her son Duane.
She is survived by: her son Jonathan Hilbun of Gulfport, Mississippi; her stepson Robert Hilbun (Patti) of Ponchatoula, Louisiana; her daughter-in-law Patty; her brothers, John Douglas Boyd (Pat) of Jayess and Excell Jerome Boyd of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Jodi of New Orleans, Louisiana, Shannon of Ponchatoula, Louisiana and Shane of Ponchatoula, Louisiana; and her great grandchild Charlie of New Orleans, Louisiana. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Brookhaven Funeral Home (894 Natchez Dr NE, Brookhaven, MS 39601). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 at the Powell's Grove Pentecostal Church (454 Powell Grove Rd, Jayess, MS 39641).
