She was predeceased by: her husband John H. Mitton Jr.; her parents, Alfred A. Porter Jr. and Dorothy Manley Porter; and her sisters, Allene Swofford, Sarah Anderson and Aileen Koch.
She is survived by: her son John Allen Mitton (Carol) of Slidell, Louisiana; her grandchildren, John William Mitton (Charlie) of Broken Arrow and Rebecca Rose DiMarco (Ryan) of Princeton, Texas; and her sisters, Alice Crego of Pearland and Kathleen Mayo of Lexington, Mississippi..
