He was predeceased by : his parents, BJ Harris and Lily Harris; and his siblings, John Henry, Carl Harris, Rosie Lee, Annie B. Harris, Shirley Valentine and Ernestine Harris.

He is survived by : his wife Tammy Harris; his son Christopher Lewis; and his sisters, Layunice Confer of Chicago, Helen Harris of Arkansas, Gola Anderson of Houston Texas, Mary Everett of Gulfport and Betty Harris of Gulfport. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
