It is with great sadness that we announce the death of LaVonnie M. Powers in Gulfport, Mississippi, born in Topeka, Kansas, who passed away on February 27, 2026, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her former husband Ted Campbell; her husband Al Powers; and her children, Gordon, Eric Campbell (Carol) and Rebecca Broom (Lee).
She is survived by: her son Dana Campbell (Peggie); and her grandchildren, Emily Mays, Megan Campbell, Kevin Campbell, Brian Campbell, Jason Campbell, Tiffany Campbell, Bo Campbell, Dana Broom, Dustin Broom and Dereck Broom. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Humane Society of South MS, 2615 25th Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39501.
