She is survived by: her children, Lezzeunna May, Jeffreeda Chisolm (David), Jeffery Hulum III and Prudence Douglas (Allen); her siblings, Henry Newsome, L. W. Newsome, Cynthia Willette, Donna Lavalais, Dianna Neely and John C. May; her grandchildren, Marcus May, Lezzeunna May-Cousan, Diamond May-Cousan, Chelsea Hulum, Javin Augustine, Khamyia Humphrey, Derrick Roberson Jr., BreUnna Chisolm, Za'Mya, Za'Nyla and Allen II; her great grandchildren, Bella May-Cousan, Aixia May-Cousan and Journi Hart; and her nieces, Constance Newson, Madison Person, Jessica Person and Kimmiyatta Willett.
Her career also included contributions to the Army Emergency Relief Texas AgriLife Military Program.
