He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Newman and Ollie Ladnier Newman of Fernwood; his siblings, Bert Newman (Fran) and Ruth Agnew (Bill); his nephew Richard; and his former wife Bennie Joe Snowden Newman.
He is survived by: his brother Fred Newman (Peggie); his daughters, Darlene Turan (Bryan) and Peggy Jones (Ronnie); his grandchild R. Gorman Newman, Jr.; his wife Ann Ladnier Taylor Newman; and his stepchildren, Ancil Taylor, Jr. (Donna), Laurie Buskirk (Ron) and Douglas Taylor. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
