He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Powell and Lena Powell; his wife Frances; and his sisters, Alicia Fairmond and Alyene Allen.
He is survived by: his daughters, Alison Clay (David), Elizabeth Powell and Kellie Istvan; his grandchildren, Melissa Hover, Jeremy Clay (Brandi), Katie McFarlin (Seth), Steven Powell (Jillian), Daniel Istvan and Hannah Istvan; his great grandchildren, Ethan Boulware, Cody Evans, Taylor Evans, Jaxon Clay, Clay McFarlin, Emmie Kate McFarlin, Connor Clay, Madelynn Powell, Noah Powell and Elijah Powell; and his great great grandchildren, Tony Boulware and Kylie Boulware.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Riemann Family Funeral Home (11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport, MS 39503). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the Riemann Family Funeral Home - Gulfport Starts (11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport, MS 39503). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the Biloxi National Cemetery (400 Veterans Ave, Biloxi, MS 39531).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Robert Powell.
