He is survived by: his former wife Andrea Boney Nickels Ackerman; his son Kyle Nickels (Heather); his grandchildren, Mason and Emily Nickels of Prattville, Alabama; his brother Gene "Ed" Nickels (Raquel); his nephews, Garrett Nickels, Jimmy Johnson (Diane) and Michael "Mickey" Nickels; his niece Gracie (David Nickels); and his sisters, Brenda Blake (Peter), Joan Morris (Wayne) and Jean Currie. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
