He was predeceased by: his parents, Kelly J. Hammond and Mary Helen Hammond. He is survived by: his children, Travis Barnes of Gulfport, MS, Katrina Tyner of Oakvale, MS, Mary Hammond of Gulfport, MS, Keteria Daniels-Mikell of Prentiss, MS and Marquette Daniels of Hattiesburg, MS; his stepdaughter Carol Welch of Philadelphia, MS; and his sisters, Margie Brown of Oakvale, MS, Katie Jackson of Prentiss, MS, Argie Daniels of Prentiss, MS, Dorothy Jefferson of Tennessee and Tracey Dantzler of Tennessee. He is also survived by grandchildren: 18; great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Home (1112 Fred St, Prentiss, MS 39474). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the New Zion Baptist Church (830 Riley Ave, Gulfport, MS 39507).
