With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ruben Gustave Elder (Gulfport, Mississippi), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 8, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Ruben shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Ruben farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruben Leonard Elder and Judith Carol Elder. He is survived by: his wife Melissa Elder; his siblings, Kevin Elder (Ashley), Amy Elder and Jason Elder (Shannon); and his nieces, Shelbie, Alexa, Breanna, Hannah and Elexis. He is also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
