He was predeceased by: his parents, George Chavis and Cleo Chavis; his wife Sandra Gayle Chavis; his children, Julie Diane Scwab-Chavis and David Wayne Chavis; his siblings, Robert L. Chavis, Karen L Chavis and E. Lavonne Golden; and his brother-in-law Alan Santa Cruz.
He is survived by: his sister Joan Santa Cruz; and his sister-in-law Debra Chavis. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
