He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Barrett and Lennie Barrett; and his siblings, Albert Barrett, DeLois Harber and Joyce Carlisle.

He is survived by: his wife Louise Horn Barrett; his children, Melba Barrett, Rhonda Haney (Greg), Brad Barrett (Nancy) and Wes Barrett (Michelle); his brother Richard Barrett (Maurine); his grandchildren, Scott Haney, Sean Haney, Luke Haney (Crystal), Justin Barrett (Laney), Alyssa Hill (Jarrod) and Ryan Barrett; and his great grandchildren, Lawson Barrett, Linkin Barrett, Layten Barrett, Lyndon Barrett and Barrett Haney.
