He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Samuel Robert Ross and Dorothy Frances Millsaps; his siblings, Dorothy Anne Heinle, Roberta Jean Ross, Camille Chappell, Frank Ross, Johnny Ross and Sam Ross; his wife Cynthia Annette Ross; his children, Lillian Amiel Pittman (Joseph) and William Sidney Robert Ross Jr.; his grandchildren, Cynthia Pittman, Garrett Pittman, Jody Pittman, William Ross III, Hadley Ross, Thomas Bailey Ross and Michael Hicks; and his great grandchildren, Naomi, Auora, Kade and Vivian.

His contributions to the medical field were commendable and helped many members of the community.
