He was predeceased by: his wife Carroll Sue McCraw; his son William Gordon McCraw (Billy); and his parents, McCraw McCraw and Mary Agnes McDonald McCraw. He is survived by: his children, Richard McCraw, Jr. (Ricky) and Kathy LeBlanc of Harrisville, MS; his grandchildren, Chris LeBlanc, Allison Spell (Scott), Marie McCraw, Brandy McCraw (Justin), Jamie McCraw, Richard McCraw III and Antoinette Path; and his siblings, Donnie McCraw and Karen McCraw. He is also survived by twenty-two great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
