He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Joshua Hilton and Mary Belle Bryant Hilton; his wife Velma Phillips Hilton; and his siblings, Claudine Tims (Cecil), Blanche Warrick (Roy), Etta Mae Hilton and Howard Grady Hilton (Jean).
He is survived by: his son Clayton Alan Hilton (Jolina Pennington Hilton) of Petal, Mississippi; his granddaughters, Lauren Hilton Smith (David Smith) of Metairie and Claire Hilton Martinez (Matt Martinez) of Arlington, Virginia; and his great grandchildren, Wyatt Smith and Ellie Smith of Metairie, Louisiana. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to The Life You Can Save, a nonprofit dedicated to helping people living in extreme poverty.
