He is survived by: his wife Cherie Smith of Hattiesburg, MS; his mother Nell Smith of Hattiesburg, MS; his sons, Davis Smith (Tayvi) of Sumrall, MS and Ellis Smith (Mae) of Gulfport, MS; his sister Melanie Kearse of Birmingham, AL; and his grandchildren, John Maris Smith, Sonny Mayes Smith and Brinklee Mae Ladner.
