He was predeceased by: his sister Nancy Lee Shafer; and his parents, Laura Bullock Shafer and Ira Ernest Shafer, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Holly M. Shafer; his children, Jenny (Jerry Baker, Jr.), James Shafer, Alexandra Shafer, Abigayle Shafer, Reiley (Kristin McClendon) and Olivia (Kriss Scioneaux); and his grandsons, Garrett Beall, Joshua Baker, Nathaniel Baker and Justin Shafer. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
