He was predeceased by: his parents, Archibald "Skipper" and Margaret Reid; his brothers, Tommy Lane Reid and Charles D. Reid; and his son Johnny "Jay" Reid, Jr..

He is survived by: his wife Lisa Reid of Hattiesburg; his daughter Joanna Maddox (Keith) of Magee; and his grandchildren, Chris Barnes (Haley) of Hattiesburg, Brandon Maddox (Megan) of Hattiesburg, Dylan Maddox (Karsen) of Flowood, Megan Maddox of Magee and Scott Maddox of Magee. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would generously accept flowers or donations made in Mr. Reid's honor to the Mississippi Organ Recovery Agency at 4400 Lakeland Dr. Flowood, MS. 39232.
