He is survived by: his wife Clydell Freeman; his children, Denise Ainsworth and Joseph "Joe" Freeman; and his grandchildren, Brittany Williams (Dylan), Nicholas Ainsworth, Michael Freeman and Brittany Brooks. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
