She was predeceased by: her parents, Florence McDiarmid Gooch and Luther Cowen Gooch, Jr.. She is survived by: her siblings, Martha Ann Gooch Hogrefe (Charles) of Hattiesburg, MS and James Cowen Gooch (Jennie) of Nashville, TN. She is also survived by five nieces and nephews as well as several grand nieces and nephews.
In 2020, during the Co-Vid pandemic, Margaret moved to Hattiesburg to be nearer family and continued to make friends and share her interest in books.
